Corticosteroid is an ointment that used on the scalp and it has been proved to be effective in helping hair growth and it is also used to treat Alopecia Areata. Injecting corticosteroid into the scalp every month or at a gap of one and a half month has proved to lessen bald hair patch. Oral corticosteroids are rarely used because of their many side effects.

Diphenylcyclopropenone: This is also known as DCP and this is used commonly as contact sensitizer, as this medicine gets easily degraded by UV rays it is mixed with acetone, ethanol or sometimes cyclohexane, it is used on the scalp once a week.

Hair loss due to radiation or chemotherapy or for that matter due to medications do not need any kind of treatment as the effect of the medications wear off after sometime and you regain your lost hair. But hair loss due to hormonal imbalance and genetics or say heredity can be solved to a certain extent with the help of topical medication so as to prevent baldness pattern for both men and women likewise.
